SHRI implements its professionalized operating and maintenance (O&M) system at these facilities. In doing so, SHRI is helping strengthen the government’s sanitation systems by helping ensure that government-built facilities are kept clean, safe, and hygienic so that they can be used by all.
SHRI will generate evidence regarding the impact of its intervention through deeper understanding of the impacts and potential for this approach. Thus, the qualitative/quantitative research will help advance SHRI’s work beyond our current focus areas of work in terms of geographies we serve to ensure no one is left behind as well as optimize our services to strengthen sanitation systems.
SHRI will use its generated evidence to influence and advocate national/state/district governments to invest in high quality, affordable and accessible shared sanitation. This will result in the replication of SHRI’s model in CTs/PTs within and beyond its current areas of focus.
